I noticed that there is already some information available at their web site, in german, french and italian, for example on Otto Baumberger, Eugene Grasset, Emile Cardinaux, Max Bill and so on. It is organised by ULUPUH, the Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts, and is sponsored by ICOGRADA, the International Council of Graphic Design Associations.

Today is the 60. anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising against the german occupation in World War 2, during which more than 250 ' 000 people were killed and the city was largely destroyed. Some posters made by the insurgents have survived, among them the famous "Call to Arms!" (Do Broni!) by Mieczyslaw Jurgielewicz. A year before, in 1943, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising which also failed, extinguished the lives of the jewish population of Warsaw, which was about 375 ' 000 before the war.

If I am starting to push some of these auctions on Poster Page or Poster Blog, I will end up in a snake pit of requests from everybody. But I make an exception for the current auction of 39 original posters from the estate of
